Sustainability

Real Systems.
Not Slogans.

We avoid generic green marketing. These are the actual systems built into how our factory runs, and the measurable ways we lower the footprint of every glove.

Built Into the Factory

Environmental Responsibility, Engineered In.

  • High-efficiency boilers
  • Water recycling
  • Rainwater harvesting
  • Solar power
  • Wastewater treatment
  • Carbon & sand filtration
  • Tree planting
  • Biodegradable nitrile

Energy

High-Efficiency Boiler Technology.

When the 2006 oil crisis sent fuel prices sharply higher, many glove makers were caught out. We adapted quickly, investing in a permitted coal-fired boiler system at a time when such permits were difficult to obtain, and committing to run it responsibly.

We burn only high-quality, low-ash coal imported from Indonesia, and work to keep emissions as low as we can through careful fuel selection and combustion control.

Today three high-efficiency boilers, including one we developed in-house, supply heat to all 14 production lines. Ongoing research keeps improving efficiency, so we burn less fuel for every glove we make.

Water

Extensive Rainwater Harvesting.

Water is essential to glove quality, it strengthens the nitrile polymer and washes extractable proteins out of latex, but it is also a limited resource where we operate.

So rather than lean on outside supply, we capture it ourselves. On-site reservoirs harvest and store rainwater through the year, cutting our draw on municipal and ground water while keeping a steady, high-quality supply for production.

Water

Recycled, Treated, Returned Clean.

Advanced filtration and water-recycling systems clean and reuse water throughout the production process, so far less of it goes to waste.

The treated water runs clean enough that the ponds on our grounds support thriving populations of edible fish, some over 15 kilograms, which we share regularly with our team and the villages around us.

Clean Energy

Solar Power On Site.

We generate clean electricity on site with rooftop solar across our buildings, reducing our demand on the grid and lowering the footprint of every glove we produce.

It is part of a simple idea: the cleaner we can make our own operation, the less the planet pays for the protection our customers rely on.

People & Place

Green Grounds & Community.

Every factory visitor has planted a tree on our premises, turning the factory into one of the greenest sites in the region, complete with an orchard of mango, guava and rambutan.

The fish from our clean ponds and the fruit from our trees go to our people and the neighbouring communities. To us, environmental care and community welfare are the same commitment.

Lower-Footprint Products

Biodegradable Nitrile.

Protection shouldn't mean permanent waste. Our Bio Nitrile gloves are engineered to break down far faster in active landfill conditions, independently verified to ASTM D5511 and ISO 15985, without compromising the grip and durability our gloves are known for.

Biodegradable Technology

People, Not Just Planet

Sustainability Is Half the Story.

The same care goes into our team and community: free rice for every employee, a gold-rated and SMETA-audited workplace, and the fruit and fish from our grounds shared with the villages around us.

Responsible by Design

The IGCL Philosophy

"We believe our stewardship of Mother Earth mirrors the care we show our own mothers."

It is not a slogan. It is why we treat and reuse our water, why we keep investing in cleaner energy, and why our grounds are an orchard. Doing this well and doing it responsibly are the same thing to us.
